Oral History

My experience in the field of oral history dates from the mid-1980s, when I worked with folklorists and labor historians on public radio series that made extensive use of oral testimony.  I have presented at national Oral History Association meetings, served as president of Ohio’s statewide oral history association, and published peer-reviewed articles on technical and theoretical issues.  For a decade, I was a member of the faculty team for the annual Oral History Institute at Kenyon College, Ohio; in 2009, we collaborated on Catching Stories: A Practical Guide to Oral History, published by the Ohio University Press.  I have conducted oral history workshops for the Ohio Historical Society, Ohio Humanities Council and other groups.
